Polygala apiculata Huter et al. (1878 View in CoL : n. 129)

Type (lectotype, designated by Peruzzi et al. 2005: 66):— ITALY. Calabria I orient. in clivibus graminosis ad vias cavas sub. urbe Gerace. sol. argillac. arenos. 2– 300 m., 24 April 1877, Huter, Porta, Rigo, ex itinere italico III N ° 129 ( FI barcode FI 001343 [digital image!, available at http://parlatore.msn.unifi.it/types]. Nomenclatural notes:—This name was so far believed to have been published in 1879 ( Porta 1879: 238). Duplicates of the gathering 129 of the authors’ “ itinere III italico ” (i.e., syntypes) were found at FI. Among them, Peruzzi et al. (2005) already selected a lectotype.

Ranunculus aspromontanus Huter [1903: 490 View in CoL (–491)]

Ranunculus monspeliacus Linnaeus (1753: 553) subsp. aspromontanus (Huter) Peruzzi & Passalacqua (2003: 263) View in CoL

Type (lectotype, designated by Peruzzi & Passalacqua 2003: 263):— ITALY. Calabria I. orient. In pascuis graminos. supr. Conventum di Polsi in Aspromonte, sol. granit. 13–1400 m., 30 May 1877, Huter, Porta, Rigo, ex itinere italico III N ° 335 ( WU –Kerner No. 0034320 [digital image!, available at http://131.130.131.10/djatoka/jacq-viewer/viewer.html?rft_id=wu_0034320&identifiers=wu_ 0034320], individual on the right. Tanacetum tridactylites A.Kern. & Huter ex Porta & Rigo (1876: n. 472)

Leucanthemum tridactylites ( A.Kern. & Huter ex Porta & Rigo) Huter et al. (1878: n. 525)

Type (lectotype, designated here):— ITALY. Abruzzo. Majella alla valle dell’Orfento, 29 July 1824, Gussone s.n. ( NAP [digital image!]) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).

Nomenclatural notes:—This species was so far believed to have been published in 1877 ( Rigo 1877: 311). The name Tanacetum tridactylites A.Kern. & Huter is validated by the citation of “ Chrysanthemum graminifolium Guss. Kern et Huter 1875 non L.!”, which refers back to a previously and effectively published description of “ Pyrethrum graminifolium var. b” Gussone (1826: 349), while explicitly excluding the type of Chrysanthemum graminifolium Linnaeus (1753: 88) (Art. 38.1 (a) of the ICN). Accordingly, T. tridactylites should be typified by an element selected from the entire context of the validating description or diagnosis (Art. 7.8 of the ICN), namely among Gussone’s original specimens. The lectotype matches the current application of the name (e.g., Pignatti 1982c, Conti et al. 2005, Peruzzi et al. 2014, 2015b, Bartolucci et al. 2018c).
