CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Drymeia alpicola ( Pont 1986b: 70, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 10).

REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 337) described Pogonomyia alpicola from a few males, without specifying their number: “ Mares aliquos legit … Prof. Bellardi [Some males collected by Prof. Bellardi]”. We found seven syntypes in this study. An additional MZUF specimen labeled “23.7.[18]77” is not included in the type series because the date of capture is later than the original description.
