Cay, Bahamas; holotype USNM 61222 ( Dall, 1902: pl. 30, fig. 5)], by monotypy.
Remarks: This genus is diagnosed by a very flat shell. Examples include ‘ Phenacolepas ’ nakamigawai Taki, 1954 and ‘ Phenacolepas ’ planata Habe, 1961 . The latter species represented the earliest offshoot among the Phenacolepadinae in the present molecular phylogeny ( Fig. 1). Feminine.
