Description. FEMALE, holotype. Total body length 425 (465–520 in 3 paratypes). Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum punctate. Stylophore apunctate, 120 (115–120) long, basal part of its dorsum with striate ornament. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2 chambers, each lateral branch with 4 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sparsely punctate, with concave anterior margin and weakly sclerotized posterior part, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si, se and c1. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:1–1.5:1–1.5. Bases of setae c1 situated slightly anterior to level of setae se. Hysteronotal shield absent. Setae d1 twice longer than d2. Pygidial shield well developed, sparsely punctate. Length ratio of setae f1: f2 1:5.8. Agenital setae ag1 about twice as long as ag2 and ag3. Pseudanal setae subequal in length. Genital plate absent. All coxal fields sparsely punctate. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 4 tines. Setae tc”III–IV 1.5 times longer than tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: vi 10 (15), ve 15 (15), si 15 (15–25), c1 110 (115), c2 105 (90–110), se 100 (110), d1 80, d2 40, e2 95 (85–95), f1 20 (20), f2 115 (120), h1 15 (15–20), h2 205, ps1 15 (10–15), ps2 15 (10–15), g1 (20), g2 (15–20), ag1 45 (45), ag2 (20), ag3 25 (25), tc’III– IV 20 (20), tc” III–IV 30 (20–30).

Type material. Female holotype and three female paratypes from quill of wing covert of Pogoniulus bilineatus (Sundevall) ( Piciformes : Lybiidae ); KENYA, North Nandi Forest, 27 November 1979, coll. unknown.
Type deposition. Holotype and one female paratype are deposited in the AMU (Reg. No. AMU-SYR.442), one female paratype in the ZISP (Reg. No. ZISP-AVB-011-2908-046), and one female paratype in the NMK (Reg. No. NMK-01MH).
Additional material. Two females from quill of body feather of Pogoniulus bilineatus (Sundevall) ( Lybiidae ); TANZANIA, Nguru Mountains, 13 November 1948, coll. unknown. Material is deposited in the AMU (Reg. No. AMU-SYR.442B). Five females from quill of wing-covert feather of P. pu s i l l u s (Dumont) ( Lybiidae ); ETHIOPIA, Uesca Ueca, 1 April 1960, coll. unknown. All material is deposited in the AMU (Reg. No. AMU- SYR.443), except 1 female in the ZISP (Reg. No. ZISP-AVB-011-2908-047).
Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the generic name of the host.
