HOLOTYPE: AMNH 225198 About AMNH , sex unknown, collected on Kolombangara (5 Kulambangra) Island, 08.00S, 157.10E (Times Atlas), Solomon Islands, on 27 September 1927, by Joe Hicks , on the Whitney South Sea Expedition (no. 28330). Only one specimen was collected (Mayr, 1936: 18). Hicks was a member of the crew of the expedition vessel France who had learned to make birdskins. GoogleMaps
