Description. Holotype body length 7.54 mm; width 4.40 mm. Habitus ( Figs 23–25 View FIGURES 23–26 ). Last segment of maxillar palpi elongate, 1.4 times as long as penultimate ( Figs 28–29 View FIGURES 27–35 ). Sclerite of bursa copulatrix as in fig. 42.

Comments. For a long time this species has remained mysterious. Partly due to the fact that it was described from a single specimen with an unclear label ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 55–56 ), and the habitat was considered to be Sudan ( Valainis, 2016). In fact, at the end of the 19th century “Haut-Soudan” was the name of the territory of the French colony, which now for the most part corresponds to the nations of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger. This place falls within the species’ range of O. alluaudi syn. n. ( Fig. 57 View FIGURE 57 ). In its description Dupuis (1913: 216) indicated that the elytra have 14 striae, but the studied type specimen has 15 striae. The possible synonymy of O. (P.) alluaudi Dupuis, 1913 with O. (P.) vittulatum Fairmaire, 1894 had already been noticed by Basilevsky in 1960, who mentioned it on the label under the holotype of O. alluaudi ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 55–56 ), but these data have never been published. We confirm and establish the new synonymy here.

Distribution. Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chad, Gabon, Mali, Nigeria ( Fig. 57 View FIGURE 57 ). Previous mentions for Senegal ( Valainis, 2016) belong to “Haut Senegal ” the name of the territory of the French colony which now for the most part corresponds to the nations of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
