Philonthus (Philonthus) merops HROMÁDKA 2011 View in CoL , described from Ghana, is a primary homonym of Philonthus (Onychophilonthus) merops SMETANA 1963 View in CoL , described from northern China (Nei Mongol Autonomous Region). Honoring L. Hromádka´s recent work on Afrotropical Philonthini and with his permission, the junior homonym is replaced with the new name Philonthus hromadkai View in CoL .
