Lectotype (first step, designated by Berg & DeWolf 1975; second step, designated here): — PERU. Huánuco, Casapi, 1835, Mathews 2061 (lectotype: K000110752 !; isolectotypes: E00296108 !, K000110751 !).

Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue mentions that the type of Pharmacosycea peruviana was allocated in the Kew

herbarium (“ Hb. Hook ”), however, there are two duplicates in this institution ( K000110751 and K000110752 ) without a label indicating that one is part of the other, therefore they are duplicates and it will be necessary to choose the actual lectotype (Art. 8.3). Berg & DeWolf (1975), Berg & Villavicencio (2004), Berg (2007) and Pelissari et al. (2019) cited Kew, but did not choose one of the two duplicates as the type deposited in this herbarium. We chose the duplicate with the barcode K000110752 as the lectotype because it contains stem, stipule, leaves, and syconia with preserved ostiole. The duplicate K000110751 has the well-preserved vegetative parts, but the syconium is very fragmented. The protologue does not describe the date of collection or the location, but the type labels complete this information .

Taxonomical note:— Ficus peruviana was synonymized by Berg & Villavicencio (2004) and Pelissari et al. (2019) as F. pertusa .
