Phagnalon ×hybridum Albert (1902: 132) View in CoL
Type:—[ FRANCE.] Var: La Farlède, vieux murs avec les parents, 28 June 1902, Albert 4891 (lectotype: TLON [digital image!], designated here; isolectotypes: BC-SENNEN barcode BC990146 !, P barcodes P03312908 and P04124701 [digital images!].)
= Phagnalon × telonense View in CoL Jordan & Fourreau (1868: 61) [ Ph. saxatile View in CoL × Ph. sordidum View in CoL ]
Notes:—The locality indicated in the protologue reads: “dans les environs de Toulon, de voir, sur les vieux murs, les rochers [...] 27 de juin […] près de la Farlède”. Phagnalon × hybridum View in CoL was indicated in the original description as a hybrid between Ph. telonense View in CoL × Ph. sordidum View in CoL . We selected as the lectotype the specimen that morphologically agrees with the original description as well as the original locality, and is kept at the institution which preserves the main part of original material on which the names proposed by this author are based. The type material is morphologically intermediate between Ph. saxatile View in CoL and Ph. sordidum View in CoL . This may be attributed to hybridization. These intermediate specimens have more oblong to linear leaves, like those of Ph. sordidum View in CoL , but are wider and longer, like those of Ph. saxatile View in CoL . The bracts are ovate to oblong, similar to those of Ph. sordidum View in CoL , whereas the peduncle is branched and the apex of the bracts is usually acute but does not form glomerules like that of Ph. saxatile View in CoL .
