Material examined. ETHIOPIA, Shewa , 14.6 mls W of Addis Ababa (2525 m) , 7.XI.1975, N.D. Jago and C. Stretch-Liljer (1Ƌ); Addis Ababa-Nkemte Rd, below scarp W of Gedo (2180 m) , 9.X.1975, N.D. Jago and C. Stretch-Liljer (1♀) (NHM).

Distribution. Endemic to Ethiopia.

Characters of the species. Male. Pronotum saddle-shaped, tegmina just longer than pronotum, exceeding the 3rd abdominal tergite, their apical external angle slightly less than 90°, rounded ( Figure 17). Fore femora and mid femora unarmed, hind femora with ventral 5 outer and inner black spines. 1st and 2nd antennal segment black below, others yellowish. Appendage of 10th tergite widened towards the apex, which is straight with right lateral angles; one long and pointed spine is present underneath each margin of the appendage base. The 9th tergite at the base of the appendage, before the spine, ends with a concave flat bifid down-directed protuberance ( Figures 18–21 View FIGURE 18 View FIGURE 19 View FIGURE 20 ).

Female. Same characters as male, with the following differences: Pronotum not saddle-shaped, tegmina reduced, as long as pronotum, lateral and not overlapping, just reaching the 2nd tergite, their apical external angle about 45°, rounded ( Figure 17). Ovipositor gently up-curved, with small fine denticles at both upper and lower apices of valves. The subgenital plate is very similar to that of P. antinorii as described above, with a wide base, converging apically and ending with a wide concavity. At the center of the plate there is a longitudinal keel ( Figure 22 View FIGURE 22 ).

Measurements. See Table 3 View TABLE 3 .
