Material examined. INDONESIA: Sumatra, at the side of Lake Toba, holotype male, 2.i. 1988, M. Kikuchi (No. 200: 73).

Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other members of the genus by the following combination of characters: AR very small, about 0.4; LR1 more than 0.8; humeral pit absent; superior volsella absent, inferior volsella triangular and marginal rounded; gonostylus with well developed triangular crista dorsalis.

Additions to description. Some additional characters should be added as: Clypeus with 9 setae. Tentorium 128 µm long, 22 µm wide. Dorsocentrals 10, acrostichals 5, prealars 10. Wing length/ length of profemur: 2.4. VR 1.1. Costal extension 45 µm long. Wing width/ wing length: 0.33. Wing with two anal veins. Palpomeres length (in µm): 25, 45, 63, 85, 135. Palpomere 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender, Palpomeres 5/3 2.2. Transverse sternapodeme 62 µm long, with weak oral projections. Gonocoxite 145 µm long. Gonostylus 65 µm long; with a broad, triangular crista dorsalis. Megaseta 8 µm long. HR 2.2, HV 2.4. The wing and hypopygium of holotype are re-drawn as in Fig. 11 A–C.

Distribution. The species occurs in Indonesia (Oriental Region).
