The “ avitus group” is composed of three species characterized by the following characters: sexual dimorphism, males with ground color yellowish and females brown; FW with four contiguous hyaline spots: two cellular, and two discal; FW with three apical hyaline spots rectangular in R 3 –R 4, R 4 –R 5 and R 5 –M 1, smaller in R 4 –R 5; valva with long distal sickle–like process, curved inwards and margin serrated; lamella antevaginalis laterally expanded and covered by microscales, and conncected to tergum VIII by a thin membrane; lamella postavaginalis with a smooth groove at median region.
