Distribution: GBI, NRE, RCI, SEN, TOG.

Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) BOL, CAC.

Historic records:

— Bolama (BOL) ( Janson 1907);

— Bubaque (BOL), Suzana (=Susana) (CAC) ( Brivio 1958).

Material examined: none.

Remarks. The species is polymorphic. Krajcik (2008a), Beinhundner (2017) and Schoolmeesters (2019) recognized four subspecies, including the nominal one. Biodiversity information (abundance, habitat preference) was provided for BEN by Touroult & Le Gall (2013). Some biological, ecological and captive breeding data were provided by Malec (2015) for this species, but see also P. cordata remarks.
