Distribution. Europe.
Material examined. 85 specimens ( KUMN, ZMUN, ZIN) .
Note. Due to misidentification this widely distributed common species was mistakenly named Otiorhynchus
scaber, auct. nec Linnaeus, 1758 during two centuries. The latter belongs to the genus Romualdius (tribe Trachyphloeini ) and is well known under junior synonymic name Romualdius bifoveolatus (Beck, 1817) .
Biology. Montane deciduous and mixed forests. Adults occur in V–VIII. Polyphagous.
