BISCHOFF (1920) described Odontomutilla mocquerysi bizonata n. f. based on a male from Gabon, but the name is unavailable. He assigned to the new form also a male from Cameroon, which differs slightly from the male from Gabon. NONVEILLER (1980a) made the name available, but he recorded the taxon only from Cameroon. The record from Gabon is also missing in PAGLIANO et al. (2020).
