1947 Valvulammina picardi n. sp. – Henson, p. 613, pl. 15, figs. 1, 3; pl. 17, figs. 3-6.
Remarks: The specimens from the Tarim Basin are here assigned with some reservations to Nezzazatinella picardi , a taxon described by Henson (1947) as belonging to Valvulammina from the Santonian of Egypt later transferred to Nezzazatinella Darmoian, 1976 . For this low trochospirally coiled form, Henson (1947) indicated about 11 chambers in the last whorl and a maximum observed test diameter of 1.10 mm with final chambers typically flaring. The rare (four) specimens from the Yigeziya Formation have test diameter from 0.87 mm to 1.70 mm overlapping with the type-material. We suspect that Henson (1947) had limited material available from the type-stratum or an assemblage with large forms lacking. In any case, a full taxonomic revision of different species attributed to Nezzazatinella is still pending ( Darmoian, 1976; Cherif et al., 1989; Chiocchini et al., 1994; Arriaga et al., 2016).
