Distribution and habitat: Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 1 View Figure 1 ). This distribution corresponds to the entomofaunal region of the central coastal mountain range ( Peña, 1966) in the Coquimban biogeographical province ( Morrone, 2015). This species inhabits semiarid environments, associated with shrublands at the tops of hills that receive fog from the nearby sea ( Fig. 1C View Figure 1 ).
