Types. Holotype ♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Gongshan County, Cikai Township , 53 km W of Gongshan on Dulong Valley Road, 27.77422°N, 98.44716°E, alt. 3380m, 1 October 2002, D. H. Kavanaugh leg. ( DHK –2002–033) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 4♀, same data as holotype ( DHK –2002–033) GoogleMaps .
Etymology. This epithet derives from the type locality.
Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from all other congeners by the dorsal plate completely exposed in ventral view and copulatory ducts with four spiral coils ( Fig. 228A–C View FIGURE 228 ).
Description. Female (holotype, 229A, B): Total length: 2.63. Carapace 0.96 long, 0.82 wide, yellow; cervical and radial grooves distinct; cephalic region slightly elevated. Clypeus 0.29 high. Sternum longer than wide, yellowish brown,, sparsely covered with microsetae. Labium wider than long. Maxillae long, distal end broad with scopulae. Chelicerae with three promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. AER recurved, PER procurved, slightly wider. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.05, ALE 0.06, PME 0.05, PLE 0.06, AME–AME 0.04, PME– PME 0.07, AME–ALE, 0.07, PME–PLE 0.08, AME– PME 0.06, ALE–ALE 0.35, PLE–PLE 0.36, ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 4.05 (1.21, 1.22, 1, 0.62), II 3.83 (1.13, 1.17, 0.94, 0.59), III 3.07 (0.94, 0.89, 0.78, 0.46), IV 3.92 (1.27, 1.21, 0.95, 0.49). Leg formula I-IIIV-III. Tm I 0.33, Tm IV present. All tibia dorsally with two to three long trichobothria. Tibial spine formula: 1-1- 1-1. Abdomen 1.67 long, 1.26 wide, oval, brown, dorsally with two pairs of sigillae; ventral side brown.
Epigyne ( Fig. 228A–C View FIGURE 228 ): Ventral plate narrow. copulatory openings situated posteriorly between the dorsal and ventral plate. Vulva: Dorsal plate U-shaped, completely exposed in ventral view. Copulatory ducts 4 spiral coils. Spermathecae somewhat globular, with short globular arms slightly overlapping the big one. Fertilization ducts short, directed mesally.
