Nazeris yandangensis Hu, Li & Zhao View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Figs. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 12 , 48–52 View FIGURES 48 – 52 )
Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Zhejiang Prov.: ɗ, Wenzhou City, Yandangshan, 150–350 m, 30.V.2006, LI Jin-Wen & SHEN Shan-Jia leg.. Paratypes: CHINA: Zhejiang Prov.: 4ɗɗ, 3ΨΨ, same data as holotype.
Description. Body length: 3.8–4.2 mm; forebody length: 2.3–2.4 mm.
Body ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ) elongate, reddish brown, with antennal segments (except for two basal), maxillary palpi and legs (except for coxae) yellow.
Head suborbicular, slightly longer than broad (length/width = 1.06); postocular portion 2.22 times as long as eye length; on disc intervals between punctures flat, not raised like carinae. Antennae slender, extending to middle of pronotum; relative length of each segment from 1 to 11: 26.0: 10.0: 15.0: 13.0: 12.5: 12.0: 11.0: 10.5: 10.0: 9.5: 14.0; relative width of each segment from 1 to 11: 9.0: 6.0: 4.5: 4.5: 4.5: 4.5: 4.5: 4.5: 4.5:5.5: 6.5.
Pronotum convex and oval, longer than wide (length/width = 1.17), narrower (pronotum/head = 0.90) than and as long as head; prosternum with strong longitudinal median carina reaching anterior margin. Elytra as long as wide, distinctly shorter (elytra/pronotum = 0.83) and slightly narrower (elytra/pronotum = 0.97) than pronotum.
Abdomen without microsculpture.
Male. Seventh sternite ( Fig. 48 View FIGURES 48 – 52 ) slightly convex in middle of posterior margin; 8th sternite ( Fig. 49 View FIGURES 48 – 52 ) triangularly excised in middle of posterior margin. Aedeagus ( Figs. 50–52 View FIGURES 48 – 52 ) distinctly sclerotized; median lobe in dorsal view parallel-sided from middle to apical 1/4 and then slightly constricted apicad, with V-shaped notch at apex; dorso-lateral apophyses thin, slightly widened near apex, with apices not reaching apex of median lobe.
Female. Seventh and 8th sternites simple.
Remarks. N. yandangensis is similar in appearance to N. wuyiensis Hu, 2006 described from Jiangxi Province, but can be easily distinguished from the latter by the following characters: the median carina of prosternum extending to the anterior margin (in N. wuyiensis the carina does not reach the anterior margin); median lobe of aedeagus ( Fig. 50 View FIGURES 48 – 52 ) in dorsal view notched at apex (in N. wuyiensis median lobe with a small projection at apex).
Distribution. China (Zhejiang Prov.).
Etymology. The species name is derived from the name of the type locality: Mt. Yandangshan Nature Reserve.
