Myrmozercon minor ( Sellnick, 1941)
Myrmonyssus minor Sellnick, 1941: 225 .
Diagnosis. Body length 418–429; dorsal shield truncate posteriorly, with approximately 31 pairs of setae; anterior pair (j1) of setae and posterior body setae longer than other body setae. Sternal shield an inverted U-shape. Host: Crematogaster impressa Emery.
Remarks. Sellnick (1941) described this species as being very similar to M. eidmanni , so we presume it has an anal shield with anterolateral extensions, a peritreme extending to mid-coxa II, and very short legs. It is distinguished by its size (length 418–429 compared to 561 for M. eidmanni ) and having fewer long posterior dorsal setae. Both species occur on the same host, Crematogaster impressa .
