ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861e: 48 (key), 49 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype (covered with mold, missing right fore- and left mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 15): Myobia Desv. / atra Rnd. / 786.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Pelamera atra ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 311, Pape et al. 1995: 26, Cerretti 2010: 349, O’Hara et al. 2020: 621).
REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 49) described Myobia atra from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length: “ Rarissimo lecta faemina [The female collected rarely]”. We found one syntype in this study.
