Description. Appearance ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2. a – d i–l) similar to that of M. angusta sp. nov., but coloration slightly darker, apical 2/ 3 of fore wing brownish-pale.
Pygofer side ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 d) short, narrowing caudad sharply, caudal margin broad, with a few rigid setae at dorsal margin near caudal angle; dorsal appendage ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 e) extremely similar to that of M. angusta sp. nov., but apex slightly narrower. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 f) with about 3 macrosetae near central margin and 3 peglike microsetae beneath subapical angulate projection. Style ( Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 g, h) sinuated in dorsal view, preapical lobe subbasal near central. Connective ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 i) Y-shaped, lateral arms relatively broad. Aedeagus ( Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 j, k) similar to that of M. angusta sp. nov., but ventral process broadened basally and ventral margin angulate near base.
Measurement. Male length 4.3mm.
Material examined. Holotype: ♂, THAILAND, Phetchabun, Nam Nao, NP Pine forest/Sambon 3, 16°42.41'N, 101°35.3'E, 868m, Malaise trap, 9–16. x. 2006, coll. Leng Janteab.
Deposition. QSBG, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Diagnosis. Male genitalia similar to those of M. angusta sp. nov., but pygofer side with dorso-caudal angle expanded, ventral process of aedeagus broad basally and angulate ventrally.
Etymology. This new specific epithet is derived from Latin word “ latus ”, meaning broad, in view of pygofer side with dorso-caudal angle expanded.
