Additional description. Similar externally to Muiralevu africanus (Muir) . Length of forewings in male 4.0– 6.1 mm (mean = 5.1, n= 3). Forewing venation like in M. africanus , but bases of Cu1 and Ms1b maybe fused (not in holotype). Hindwings with tip of R branched. Male aedeagus without the slender and pointed processes found in the other African species of Muiralevu . Apical portion consisting of two lobes; one or both with triangular or pointed projections.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective ( inermis , -is, -e = unarmed).
Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 6.1 mm), CAMEROON; labels: 1) Cameroon. Abong/ Mbang-Ayos / 13. VI.73/ Linnavuori ( IRSNB).
Other material examined. NIGERIA: Ile-Ife , 15.I.1970, 1 ♂, J. T . Medler; CONGO (Kinshasa): Elisabethville , II.1950, 1 ♂, Ch. Seydel (both IRSNB) .
Distribution. Cameroon, Nigeria, Congo. Diagnosis. The holotype is unfortunately in poor condition. However, the males can be easily recognized by the male aedeagus lacking the numerous slender and pointed processes found in the other African species of Muiralevu .
