Description. Colour: Black. Antennae cream in colour.
Total length: 2.7–3.0 mm
Male: Head: Broad U-shape between clypeal teeth, which are slightly upturned. Mentum almost square, not bordered, finely reticulate with setation sparse on posterior corners. Edge of head completely bordered, genal angle distinct. Dorsal parts of eyes narrow, separated by an interocular space of about 20 times eye width and the eye canthus not dividing eye. Surface smooth, nitid, somewhat reticulate; with moderate, round punctures; setation absent. Head width to length ratio 53:35.
Pronotum: Anterior angles almost 90°. Basal angles distinct, basal margin almost straight. Hypomeron surface finely reticulate with sparse punctation. Elongate punctures along basal margin almost extend to basal edge but diverging medially to leave an impunctate area. All punctures without setae. Hypomeral stria short. Pronotum width to length ratio 87:44.
Elytra: Surface smooth, finely reticulate. Intervals finely punctate with no setae. Striae superficial to obsolete. Ratio of length of elytra along suture to maximum elytral width 90:102.
Legs: Protibiae notched on the inner side near apex; 3 teeth on outer edge, which is serrate between teeth and proximal to them; each tooth with 1 group of setae dorsally, front edge straight between apical tooth and small inconspicuous apical spur. The tooth on underside near base of tarsus is a blunt projection. Protibiae inner apex produced, with a comb and a brush of setae. Claws toothed. Mesotibiae densely setose on inner side. Metatibiae slightly bent from midpoint with slight extension of inner angle.
Abdomen: Pygidium with small, straight transverse groove at the base about 1/3 the width of the pygidium and not reaching basal angle; with a straight lower lip and concave upper lip. Both lips are rounded and not sharp. Ventrites with fine reticulation only at sides, with a row of punctures along the anterior edge of ventrites 2–5, ventrite 6 finely punctate. Suture between abdominal ventrites simple.
Pterothorax: Medial lobe of metaventrite finely punctate, finely reticulate, broadly margined between mesocoxae. Meso-metaventral suture arched. Lateral lobe of the metaventrite narrowly margined anteriorly, finely reticulate with round punctures. Mesoventrite finely reticulate, not notched anteriorly. Mesepimera finely reticulate. Metanepisterna finely reticulate.
Hind wings: Absent.
Female: Protibiae not expanded at the inner apical angle with longer apical spur. Mesotibiae lack inner brush of setae. Metatibiae straight.
Distribution. See Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 C. Known only from high altitudes of Lamington National Park and Springbrook National Park, southeastern Queensland at about 1000 m. Collected in pitfall traps, dung-baited traps, berlesed litter, and by stick brushing.
