Monatractides corsicus Pešić & Smit, 2023
Material examined — ITALY, Sardinia, Comune di Buggerru, It 2022–4, Spiaggia di San Nicolò , outflow of the contained Sorgente San Nicolò (approx. 100m below, 20m before the mouth on the beach, under the SP 83 bridge, small stream, aquatic plants, 39.4198° N, 8.4122° E, 5 m asl., 12. Remarks — The sequences obtained from the specimens from Sardinia fall into BIN BOLD:AEN9161 which, in addition to the specimens used in this study for molecular analysis, also includes five specimens from Corsica morphologically assigned to M. corsicus . The latter species belongs to the M. stadleri- complex and was recently described by Pešić & Smit (2023) from Corsica using morphological data and DNA barcodes. The species is new for Italy.
