Type material. The former ‘ Rudolf Handmann collection’ is stored in the Kollegium Kalksburg in Vienna, a Catholic private school, but these specimens are lost .
Discussion. Handmann (1882) described three specimens from Baden-Sooss ( Austria) and one specimen from Gainfarn ( Austria), SL: 12 mm, MD: 8 mm. Handmann (1882) described a smooth shell with a high conical spire, nearly flat-sided whorls, a weakly angled base on the last whorl and a smooth columella. As already emphasized by Handmann (1882) this morphology is reminiscent of Columbellidae and therefore we exclude this species from Fasciolariidae . It is unclear if this species is conspecific with one of the Paratethyan Mitrella species described by Harzhauser & Landau (2021).
