Minilimosina (Svareciella) furculipexa Roháček & Marshall, 1988 View in CoL
( Figs. 60–71 View FIGURES 60 – 68 View FIGURES 69 – 71 )
Minilimosina (Svarciella) furculipexa Roháček & Marshall, 1988: 250 View in CoL [both sexes, phylogenetic notes, illustr.]. Type locality: Nepal, Arun Valley, below Tumlingtar, River Sabhaya, west shore [1,800 ft]. HT male (BMNH).
Male for M. furculipexa View in CoL described by Roháček & Marshall (1988) was based on partly damaged holotype, therefore their redescription is here supplemented as follows.
Disgnosis. Body colour shining black. Eye 3.0 times as high as gena. Antennae yellow. Apical scutellar seta 1.2 times as long as scutellum length. Apices of fore tibia, Mid and hind tibiae, trochanters and tarsi yellow, apical 4 fore tarsomeres infuscated. Cs2 0.8 times as long as Cs3. Abdomen with tergites 3–5 slightly paler and sclerotized. Tergites 4–5 divided into two dark sclerites. Sternite 5 of male ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) with posterior bifurcate lobe carrying 2 separate comb-like rows of blunt spines. Tergite 8 of female ( Fig. 69 View FIGURES 69 – 71 ) bipartite, projecting in 2 dark, narrow posterolateral lobes. Sternite 8 of female ( Fig. 70 View FIGURES 69 – 71 ) with a group of posterior setae. Spermathecae ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 69 – 71 ) peanutshaped.
Redescription. Male. General colour shining black; the lowermost margin of frons dark brown; antennae yellow; face with two reddish brown spots on lower margin; legs brown to shining black except for troanchers, mid and hind tarsi, apex of fore femur, basal third and apical sixth of fore tibia, mid and hind tibiae yellow, and fore tarsus with 4 apical tarsomeres brown.
Head: Two orbitals. Eye 3.0 times as high as gena. Aristal hairs twice as long as arista width at base.
Thorax: Mid tibia: proximal anterodorsal seta slightly longer than distal anterodorsal, with a distinct row of short spine-like anteroventral setae terminating in a small ventroapical seta, ventroapical seta half length of width of mid tibia, a row of short posterodorsal setae. Mid femur with a row of posteroventral setae. Anterior dorsocentral seta half length of posterior dorsocentral, the latter subequal to scutellum length. Wing and veins reddish brown, including C. C exteneded slightly beyond apex of R4+5. Cs2 0.8 times as long as Cs3.
Male abdomen: Tergites 3–5 pale pigmented but sclerotized, the rest of tergites black; synsternite 1+2 ( Fig. 68 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) butterfly-shaped. Tergites 4 and 5 ( Fig. 66 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) respectively divided into 2 dark sclerites. Sternite 5 ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) with a large posteromedial lobe carrying two rows of comb-like spines and a group of spine-like setae in front of it. Gonostyli ( Figs. 61, 62 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) asymmetrical. Phallophore ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) with ventral part large and anteriorly attached to ventrobasal part of distiphallus. Distiphallus ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) with a slender dorsal and a looped ventral sclerite. Postgonite ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 60 – 68 ) long and thick, sinuate, with a finger-like tooth on apex.
