Family Anostostomatidae Saussure, 1859 View in CoL ƁǿIJ
The Chinese name ‘ Dü’ is a translation of English name ‘king (º) cricket’ and modified with a radical ‘ $ ’, not the general meaning of locust, but king crickets only refer to Anostostomatidae partly and regionally. The name ‘ Ḓ (mi) ü ’ is clearly transliteration of Mimnermidae which has been synonymized by Johns (1997) with Anostostomatidae . The word ‘nü’ is from type genus Anostostoma (insipid mouth), and has already used by certain group of people.
