Range: —Amazon basin from southern Venezuela and the Guianas to Bolivia (LP) and Brazil.
Ecology: — Rare, known from two Bolivian collections: Helme 506a ( LPB) and Beck 8073 ( LBP); epiphytic in humid forests; 330 m.
Notes: —Differs from M.percussa by the abaxially glabrous blades and sori lacking paraphyses (vs. blades abaxially with round, peltate scales, and sori with numerous, hairlike paraphyses); for comparison with M. persicariifolia , another similar species, see comments under that species.
