Specimens examined. Japan, Ogasawara Islands , Haha-jima Is.: Mt. Sakaigatake , 5 females (4 aptera & 1 macroptera) & 1 male (aptera) on dead branches, 4.iii.1988. Mt. Kensaki-yama, 1 female (aptera) on dead branches, 6.iii.1988. Nr. Nakanotaira, 1 female (aptera) on dead branches, 7.iii.1986. Chichi-jima Is.: Mt. Mikazuki-yama, 7 females (aptera) & 2 males (aptera) on dead branches, 10.iii.1988. Nr. Tokoyonotake, 1 male (aptera) on dead branches, 11.iii.1988. (all collected by S. Okajima.)
Notes. This species has been known from North and South America. The members of this family are fungus feeders.
