Ecology: —Uncommon, known in Bolivia from 10 collections, four cited by Fernandes & Salino (2016): Buchtien 5158 (NY, UC, US), Huaylla & Wendelberger 10 (MO), Krukoff 11128 (F, GH, K, NY), Williams 1280 (NY); also seen: Jimenez 1047 (UC); 800–1700 m.
Notes: —This was previously considered a synonym of M. falcatum Liebm. , by Maxon & Morton (1938), but M. pachysora differs by the abruptly narrowed, long-petiolulate (petiolules often 2–5 cm long), generally wider (to 5 cm) pinnae, and greater number of pinna pairs, ca. 15–28(–40) ( Fernandes & Salino, 2016). Meniscium falcatum occurs in southern Mexico to Panama, Colombia to Ecuador.
