Megachile tenuistriga Alfken 1938: 428 View in CoL , ♀, “ Sinai ( Kaiser )”. Lectotype ♀, by present designation (see below), ZMHB.

Type material: Lectotype ♀, designated here, a specimen in good condition, labeled as follows: 1. “ Sinai (Kaiser) [printed]”. 2. “ Megachile tenuistriga sp. nov. m. [handwritten by J. D. Alfken] det. J. D. Alfken 1937 [printed]” ; Lectotype M. tenuistriga des. van der Zanden 1993“ ( ZMHB). This lectotype designation has not been published and is accepted here . Additional material: EGYPT: 1 ♀, Sinai, Wadi Ahmar 2000–2300 m, 25.6.1998, leg. Freidberg & Kaplan ( SMNH). Distribution: Widely distributed from the Sinai Peninsula and Greece eastwards to Iran. Note: This widely distributed Eastern Mediterranean species will be redescribed in a subsequent work .
