Megachile (Sayapis) policaris Say, 1831 View in CoL

Megachile policaris is found from Central America to Canada. This species has been previously reported in the Gulf Coast and the Sarcocaulescent Shrubland by ASUHIC, BBSL , and SDNHM ( GBIF 2023 View Materials ). Additionally, we examined two specimens collected in the Central Desert in October 1997 (1 ♀) and the Sarcocaulescent Shrubland in November 2016 (1 ♂; BBSL). The CARCIB team collected one male in the Magdalena Plains in October 2017. Furthermore, the BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral (1 ♀), Chaparral (1 ♂), Lower Colorado Desert (1 ♀), Central Desert (1 ♂), and Gulf Coast (2 ♀, 1 ♂). Voucher specimens are in MABC , and ECOAB. See fig. 232 .
