Megachile (Chelostomoides) discorhina Cockerell, 1924 View in CoL

[ Holotype: CASC; ♀ Palm Canyon, Isla Ángel de la Guarda, Baja California, Mexico; May 3, 1921]

This species was described based on a female specimen collected in the Gulf Coast ecoregion in Isla Ángel de la Guarda by Cockerell (1924). It has been previously recorded in the Coastal Sage Matorral, Lower Colorado Desert, Central Desert, and Sarcocaulescent Shrubland based on preserved specimen records at SDNHM and BBSL ( GBIF 2023). The BBPT collected this species in the Lower Colorado Desert in 2021 (2 ♀), La Giganta Ranges in March 2021 (5 ♂), and Magdalena Plains in 2021 (2 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 220.
