Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, Ferraz de Vasconcelos.
Holotype ♀ with labels: (1) printed on pink paper: “HOLOTIPO”; (2) handwritten on white paper: “ VIII.46 [viii.1946] | S Paulo [São Paulo] | F.Vasconcelos [Ferraz de Vasconcelos] | J.Lane col. [collector]”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white paper: “ Lygistorrhina | edwardsi | det. John Lane 194 6 [determiner]”; (5) printed on white paper: “MZ004333”.
Condition of type (figures 7–8). Pinned. Missing parts: antennae.
Comments. Lane (1947: 347) described this species based on two specimens, the female holotype above, and a male paratype from Brazil, São Paulo State, Campos do Jordão Municipality.
