Types. Holotype: male from Punta Negra, Maisí , Guantánamo, Cuba (20°5'37.39"N, 74°14' 11.50"W), under Agave sp., Aug. 8, 2000, A. Sánchez col., deposited in IBSP164682. Paratypes: two females with same data as holotype, deposited in IBSP164683 and IBSP164684.

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. Specimens of L. maisi sp. nov. resemble those of L. mogote sp. nov. and L. taino by the globose palpal tibiae in the male palp, but can be distinguished by the form of embolus ( Figs. 17−18 View FIGURES 17 − 24 ) and by the hand-like receptacles with 5−6 lobes ( Figs. 47−48 View FIGURES 45 − 48 ).

Description. Male (holotype, IBSP164682): Carapace orange, darker in cephalic region ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 17 − 24 ). Chelicerae, labium and legs orange ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 17 − 24 ). Endites yellow at base and orange distally. Sternum yellowish orange. Palp with cymbium and tibia orange and rest yellow. Abdomen gray. Total length 7.5. Carapace 3.3 long, 3.1 wide. Clypeus 1.1 high. Eye diameters: ALE 0.55, PME 0.5, PLE 0.5. Leg measurements: I: femur 8.0/ patella 1.4/ tibia 9.5/ metatarsus 9.6/ tarsus 1.6/ total 30.1; II: 8.9/ 1.3/ 10.6/ 10.7/ 1.6/ 33.1; III: 7.6/ 1.3/ 7.4/ 10.7/ 1.5/ 28.5; IV: 8.0/ 1.3/ 9.4/ 9.7/ 1.6/ 30. Leg formula: 2143. Sternum 1.9 long, 1.7 wide. Palpal tibia 1.0 long, 0.7 wide. Palp with cymbium almost the same length of tegulum and embolus longer than cymbium ( Figs. 31−32 View FIGURES 31 − 38 ).

Female (paratype, IBSP164683): Coloration as in male, except abdomen darker ( Figs. 19−20 View FIGURES 17 − 24 ). Total length 8.8. Carapace 3.9 long, 3.1 wide. Clypeus 1.1 high. Eye diameters: ALE 0.55, PME 0.55, PLE 0.5. Leg measurements: I: femur 7.0/ patella 1.3/ tibia 7.1/ metatarsus 7.3/ tarsus 1.2/ total 23.9; II: 7.2/ 1.4/ 7.5/ 7.8/ 1.2/ 25.1; III: 6.2/ 1.4/ 5.2/ 6.7/ 1.1/ 20.6; IV: 6.7/ 1.3/ 5.8/ 7.7/ 1.3/ 22.8. Leg formula: 2143. Sternum 1.8 long, 1.7 wide. Palpal tibia 0.9 long, 0.25 wide. Palpal tarsus 1.1 long, slender at tip ( Figs 21−22 View FIGURES 17 − 24 ). Epigynum as in figs. 47−48.

Variation. Female (n=4): total length 7.5−9.0, carapace 3.0−3.9 long, femur I 6.1−7.0 long. Palpal tibia 0.75−0.9 long, 0.2−0.25 wide. Palpal tarsus 0.9−1.1 long.

Additional material examined. CUBA. Guantánamo: Maisí , La Llana (20°4'30.00"N, 74°24'34.92"W), under Agave sp., A. Sánchez, Sept. 8, 2000 (IBSP164685, 3♀).

Distribution. Known only from two localities on the southeastern coast of Guantánamo province, Cuba.
