Type locality: “ Guyana; Rupunini , Iwokrama Forest Reserve , Sipuruni River, Pakatau Camp, 4°45’17’’N, 59°01’28’’W, 85 m. ” GoogleMaps

Distribution: Region 5. Lowlands and uplands of Guiana Shield in Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and Brazil. In Venezuela, only from eastern Bolívar State.

Remarks: Records from eastern part of Venezuelan Guayana previously assigned to Leptodactylus bolivianus are actually L. guianensis (e.g., Barrio-Amorós et al. (2011b) from Triunfo). In Leptodactylus latrans species group of De Sá et al. (2014).
