Range: — Peru, Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology: —Uncommon; epiphytic or epipetric in montane rain forests; 1900–3000 m.
Notes: —Most closely resembling Lellingeria tungurahuae (Rosenst.) A.R.Sm. & R.C.Moran , from Ecuador and Peru ( Labiak 2013), which differs in having densely hairy petioles and rachises, especially adaxially, wider petioles (1 mm), rachises densely hirsute adaxially with numerous reddish ascending hairs, and more coriaceous blades ( Labiak 2013). Lellingeria ciliolepis is a small, relatively narrow-bladed species with sunken sori, and straight (vs. flexuose) rachises. It superficially resembles some species of Melpomene but differs by the blackish rhizome scales and different pubescence.
