the results of the comparative studies of this work, we conclude that none of the three subspecies of Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) cazorlensis can be clearly characterized or distinguish by the morphology of the pronotum or the genitalia. The differences that can be observed among individuals of this species reflect the intraspecific variability that many other Sphodrini species also show, and for which subspecies are not recognized. We also understand that the assignment of the subspecific taxon has been typically performed based on the geographic territory in where the samples were collected, with no considerations about the proprieties of the ground in where this carabid inhabits. Hence, we consider as inappropriate the segregation of Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) cazorlensis into three subspecific taxa. We propose the synonymization of the non-typical subspecies with the typical one and, therefore, with the specific taxa:
Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) cazorlensis divergens nov. syn. of Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) cazorlensis ;
Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) cazorlensis seguranus nov. syn. of Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) cazorlensis .
