Locomotive cells have the shape of an irregular triangle ( Fig. 2A, C, D View Fig ) or elongated rectangle ( Fig. 2B View Fig ). Cells form short ( Fig. 2A, C View Fig ) or elongated ( Fig. 2D View Fig ) subpseudopodia during locomotion. Length of the locomotive form is 42–83 μm (average 59.6 μm), breadth is 13–40 μm (average 19.8 μm), and L/B ratio is 1.3–5.2 (average 3.2). The single spherical nucleus ( Fig. 2C, E View Fig ) is 4.5–9.3 μm in length (average 6.4 μm) and 4.4–7.6 μm in breadth (average 5.4 μm). The nucleus features a nucleolus that consisted of many small spherical pieces ( Fig. 2C, E View Fig ). The diameter of the nucleoli is 0.9–2.7 μm (average 1.6 μm). Usually, two contractile vacuoles are visible ( Fig. 2B, D View Fig ).

In our cultures, amoebae form cysts with a thick cyst wall ( Fig. 2F View Fig ). The diameter of the cytoplasmic body of the encysted cell is 13 ‒ 23 μm (average 17.6 μm), while the diameter of the cyst including its wall is 17 ‒ 27 μm (average 21.7 μm).

Cell surfaces are covered with two types of scales: large basket-shaped and small dish-shaped (Fig. 3A, C). The length of the basket-shaped scales is 404–555 nm (average 498.2 nm); breadth 216–294 nm (average 259.8 nm); and height 112–192 nm (average 148.2 nm). The length of the dish-shaped scales is 70–116 nm (average 96.9 nm); breadth 25–71 nm (average 44.3 nm); and height 13–27 nm (average 19.3 nm). Large scales included basal plate, perforated flange, and latticework basket in the shape of a closed hammock supported by two apical and eight (Fig. 3A) or ten (Fig. 3B, C) lateral columns and two spikes of equal length (Fig. 3A, C).
