No names have ever been published under the generic name Sprucina , but the collection cited in the protologue (Spruce 2853) refers to J. grisebachiana W. R. Anderson. Thus , J. grisebachiana is here designated as the type of Sprucina under Art. 10.2 Ex. 2 ( Turland et al. 2018). Jubelina comprises six currently accepted species (one threatened species; Suppl. material 1) of lianas endemic to the rainforests of Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela, South America ( POWO 2024).
