Redescription. Wings. FW costa length: 13–15 mm (n=11, CEP – MZUJ material), apical area of costa and upper outer margin is straight resulting an acute apex; male dorsal wing surface colouration dark azure; dorsal FW surface black border inner margin reaching the erection of vein M3; HW dorsal surface discal area structurally coloured; ventral FW submedial and medial pattern running parallel, ventral HW medial pattern composed by light ruptive dashes supplemented distally with dark spots, postmedial line complete but faint; ventral HW submedial area at costa with discal area colour, postmedial pattern indistinct, inner margin medial area with brown scaling. Genitalia. Male valva with rounded costal margin flip and short pointed valval terminus (approximately 1/3 valval length), in dorso-ventral aspect capsula long and thin. Female ductus with parallel edges, no lower plate, upper plate symmetric, a relatively well developed bristle in both sides. Androconia present in ventral FW along Cubital 2 vein as a wide black streak in the median- and postmedian area.
Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from the congeners on the basis of wing hape and male androconia, plus the zigzagged ventral medial pattern. FW apex is somewhat pointed, but not as much as in J. iacinta and J. turquisca . Ventral FW androconia in J. turquisca are similarly shaped and situated in the same place but the medial pattern in J. pardoa is comprised of light dashes, whilst in J. turquisca there are gleaming white on both fore and HW. Dorsal wing surface tornal area tends to be rufous in the Peruvian specimens.
Distribution. Geographical: COLOMBIA (Antioquia, Cauca, Santander), ECUADOR (Carchi, Cotopaxi, Imbabura, Sucumbíos, Tungurahua), PERU (Amazonas, Huánuco, Pasco) ( Fig. 32 View FIGURE 32 ); spatial: 900–3400 ma.s.l.; temporal: January–February, April–May and from August to November.
Note. Beside J. auda , it is another widely distributed species.
