I (Heft 42): 91 (1910).— Cnidoscolus campanulatus (Pax) Pax ex Fern.Casas, Fontqueria View in CoL 55: 70 (2002), comb. superfl. (see under C. acrandrus for discussion). Type:— ARGENTINA. Tucumán: Tuscapampa u. Tarucapampa bei La Cruz., 22–25 December 1872, P.G. Lorentz & G. Hieronymus 1170 (lectotype GOET-003334!, designated here; isolectotypes F-V0056799F!, US-00902256!).

Distribution:— Argentina, Paraguay.

Notes:— Two collections were cited in the protologue “ Lorentz und Hieronymus 1170 ” and “ O. Kuntze ”. The only one of these that we were able to encounter is P.G. Lorentz & G. Hieronymus 1170. The specimen at GOET is here designated as the lectotype.
