I (Heft 42): 92 (1910).— Cnidoscolus appendiculatus (Pax & K.Hoffm.) Pax & K.Hoffm. ex Fern.Casas, Fontqueria View in CoL 55: 70 (2002), comb. superfl. (see under C. acrandrus for discussion). Type:— PARAGUAY. Caaguazú: Prope Caaguazú in campis, 1905, É. Hassler 9144 (holotype G-00307061!).

Distribution:— Argentina, Paraguay.

Notes: —The collection at G does not have one of the characteristic annotation labels that were used by Pax and Hoffmann, but Pax wrote directly on the collection label “ Jatropha appendiculata Pax et K.Hoffm. ” Additionally, it is labelled as “unicum.” It is for these reasons that the specimen is considered the holotype.
