Type locality: [Stalinabad, 25.IX.1935, 1♀, Uzbekistan, South Kazakhstan. Total: 4♂, 4♀. Types ♂ and ♀ from Tartugai].

Paralectotype, 1♂: golden rounded label // Тартугай 3-15.VI.1929 А. Шестаков// Irenula gen. n. margaritacea ♂ Sem. & Nik. A. Semenov-Tian-Shanskij det.

Remarks. Kimsey (1986: 109) designated a female syntype in ZIN as the lectotype. Four paralectotypes with the same labels are preserved in ZIN. Another paralectotype is housed in the Linsenmaier collection (NMLS).

Current status. Hedychridium margaritaceum (Semenov, 1954) (transferred to Hedychridium Abeille de Perrin by Kimsey & Bohart 1991: 198).
