Synonyms: Ingenia yanshini Barsbold, 1981 preoccupied by Gerlach, 1957

Oviraptor yanshini Paul, 1988

Diagnosis: Distinguished from all other oviraptorids by the following characters: manual digit I subequal in length to digit II; manual ungual I more than 100% larger than ungual II (also in Nemegtomaia barsboldi ). Differs from Heyuannia huangi in more elongated manual phalanx I-1 (extending almost to distal end of II-1); ischium reduced relative to pelvis, lacking distinct tab-like obturator process; articular contributes to posteroventral margin of mandible in lateral view ( Barsbold, 1977; Barsbold et al. 1990; Wang et al. 2013). Differs from Nemegtomaia barsboldi in phalanx II-2 shorter than II-1; metacarpal III subequal in length to metacarpal II; well-developed brevis shelf subequal in length to preacteabular portion of ilium; dorsal margin of ilium slightly convex, gently sloping downward posteriorly.

Holotype: MPC-D100/30 ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 ), parietal, braincase, mandible, nine cervical vertebrae, fourteen dorsal ribs, sacrum, thirty caudal vertebrae, twelve chevrons, scapulacoracoids, furcula, sternum, humeri, radii, ulnae, semilunate carpal, metacarpal I, phalanx I-1, manual ungual I, metacarpal II, phalanx II-1, phalanx II-2, manual ungual II, metacarpal III, phalanx III-1, phalanx III-2, phalanx III-3, manual ungual III, ilia, pubes, ischia, femora, tibiae, fibulae, astragali, calcanea, metatarsal I, metatarsal II, phalanx II-1, phalanx II-2, pedal ungual II, metatarsal III, phalanx III-1, phalanx III-2, phalanx III-3, pedal ungual III, metatarsal IV, phalanx IV-1, phalanx IV-2, phalanx IV-3, phalanx IV-4, pedal ungual IV ( Barsbold, 1981).
