( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 , 3O–R View FIGURE 3 , 4M–P View FIGURE 4 , 5D View FIGURE 5 , 6 View FIGURE 6 )

Diagnosis. Males of I. mineirus sp. nov. ( Fig. 3O–P View FIGURE 3 ) are most similar to I. fasciatus ( Fig. 3E–F View FIGURE 3 ) due to the presence of three hyaline spots in the apical area of the FW and similar wing length. But, as noted in the diagnosis of I. fasciatus , the upper distal margin of the ampulla is concave in I. mineirus ( Fig. 4M–N View FIGURE 4 ), while is rounded in I. fasciatus ( Fig. 4E–F View FIGURE 4 ). For females, the distal third of the ductus bursae is enlarged with a somewhat larger, rounded signum ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ), very different when compared to the other species ( Fig. 5A–C View FIGURE 5 ).

Description. Male ( Fig. 3O–P View FIGURE 3 ) — FW length: 11 mm to 13 mm. DFW: Presence of three hyaline spots in the apical area. Presence of one hyaline cell spot. HW length: 8 mm to 9 mm. VHW: Presence of cream-white scales most abundant near the marginal area. Genitalia ( Fig. 4M–P View FIGURE 4 ): Uncus tapering to the distal region. Valva longer than wide, with an upper distal concavity in lateral view; sacculus about three times longer than wide, rectangular; harpe very narrow, approximately four times longer than wide, with similar width throughout its extension and making a curve upwards at its distal portion; ampulla with general aspect similar to harpe, darker, bearing small denticles on its distal margin. Aedeagus with a spined cornutus. Female ( Fig. 3Q–R View FIGURE 3 )—Differs from the male as follows: FW length: 13 mm. DFW: Brown with lighter and darker transverse bands, in some individuals the lighter bands are much more evident than on males ( Fig. 3O–P View FIGURE 3 ). HW length: 9 mm. Presence of three small, white spots in the apical area, one hyaline cell spot, two additional spots can be present or absent, one between M 2 -M 3 and the other between M 3 -CuA 1. Genitalia ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ): Lamella antivaginalis quadrangular in ventral view. Lamella postvaginalis as a semi-rounded plate. Distal third of ductus bursae enlarged, with a somewhat rounded signum.

Hostplants. No record.

Etymology. The epithet mineirus refers to the Brazilian word “mineiro”, which means a person born or inhabiting Minas Gerais (state of Brazil) where the type series was collected. The name is treated as a masculine noun in the genitive case.

Distribution ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ). Brazil: Minas Gerais.

Temporal distribution. Incisus mineirus sp. nov. has been collected in the following months: April–August.
