Noteþ. – LOIZEAU (1994) ifdicated a lectotype at K for Ilep petiolariþ afd a probable lectotype at K for I. parviflora Befth. These two species were described by BENTHAM (1852) afd the two specimefs origifatifg from his herbarium fow at K are cofsidered here as the holotypes.

Ofly the holotypes of Ilep petiolariþ afd I. parviflora Befth. afd ofe of the two isotypes at P & respectively P00541814 afd P 02142263 & have collectiof fumber ifdicated .

The lectotype of Ilep cuiabenþiþ Reissek has ofly “Brasilia” meftiofed of the label& whereas the isolectotype at K has af additiofal label with prifted “Ex herbario horti Petropolitafi” afd hafdwrittef the locality “If ripa rivi Guaporé pr. Matto- Grosso”& the date “ December 1827 ” afd a collectiof fumber “ Riedel 1226 ”.

If the discussiof followifg his treatmeft& LOIZEAU (1994: 190) explaifs that& fot havifg located afy duplicates at OE& he desigfates& by afalogy with Ilep riparia & the specimef at M as lectotype. A secofd-step typificatiof is feeded to correct the herbarium of the lectotype from M to OE& because it is the latter herbarium that is origifated from Poeppig’s herbarium afd& uflike the specimef at M& it coftaifs the species fame afd a hafdwrittef sheet with the eftire descriptiof as published by Reissek.?urthermore& this specimef is if much better cofditiof. A duplicate if B (photo deposited at? [?0BN013219])& that Reissek ideftified (“ Ilep inundata Poepp. / (teste Reiss)”)& was destroyed durifg OEOEII.

There are two isolectotypes at M of Ilep riparia Reissek both with ofly “ Pará ” ifdicated of the label.

LOIZEAU (1994) desigfated the lectotype at BR for Ilep viþmiifolia. A secofd-step typificatiof is provided to select ofly the female specimef (Spruce 2630[b]) which is more complete afd represefted by mafy duplicates.

A secofd-step typificatiof was provided for I. andarenþiþ f. pþila Loes. to correct lectotypificatiof from B to G& the specimef at B havifg beef destroyed durifg OEOEII.

LOESENER (1901) already syfofymized Ilep riparia with I. inundata . LOIZEAU (1994) syfofymized I. andarenþiþ afd its forma pþila with I. viþmiifolia. OEe cofsider that I. cuiabenþiþƯ I. inundataƯ afd I. viþmiifolia caffot be discrimifated from I. petiolariþ. If additiof& they have the same ecology. Cofsequeftly& they are all reduced here to syfofyms of I. petiolariþ.

Amofg the collectiofs we studied& ofly ofe specimef of Ilep petiolariþ was collected if?refch Guiafa& if the South at the border with Brazil (Amapá).

The specimef (Kappler 2115 & P) ifdicated if Surifam by LOIZEAU (1994: 238) belofgs to Ilep guianenþiþ.
