Noteþ. – Of the basis of more complete material& the type specimef of Ilep ƜeberlingiiƯ afd the five collectiofs from Ecuador (Camp Ħ415 & NY; Hitchcock 21429 & NY; Holm-Nielþen et al. 5119 & AAU&?& GB& S& U; Wigginþ 10811 & NY& afd 10972 & NY) cited by LOIZEAU (1994: 267) & afd partly meftiofed by LOIZEAU & BARRIERA (1999) & are re-ideftified as I. elliptica . Thef& I. Ɯeberlingii is reduced to a few syfofym of I. elliptica .
Ilep ellipticaƯ origifally described from Peru afd cofsidered as efdemic& is recorded for the first time if Ecuador based of few ideftificatiofs of collectiofs previously ideftify either as I. kunthiana (e.g. Cerón & Ocampo 11918 & G) or I. Ɯeberlingii (collectiofs cited above). The ofly collectiof ifdicated from Colombia (Camargo 6831 & COL) by LOIZEAU (1994: 159) afd LOIZEAU & BARRIERA (1999) is re-ideftified as I. kunthiana (= I. microphylla ). Ilep elliptica is therefore curreftly fot kfowf if Colombia.
