Material examined. 4 ex. Qingshui River , Kaiyang County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China; 26.03°N, 106.81°E, June 2023 by Xiao- Bo Qian GoogleMaps .

Holotype. NNUH20240401 , shell height 11.03 mm, width 6.58 mm, height of the body whorl 7.94 mm.

Paratypes. 3 ex. NNUH20240402–4 , shell height 10.13–11.29 mm, width 6.14–6.92 mm, height of the body whorl 7.79–7.91 mm, locality and habitat same as holotype .

Locus typicus. Qingshui River, Kaiyang County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China; 26.03°N, 106.81°E.

Etymology. The specific name " pyriformis " is derived from piriform. We suggest the Chinese common name as " 梨形华ĸ ".

Description. Shell small, thick, solid, piriform, dark purple, with light yellow stripes; shell comprising six to seven whorls, surface near smooth, growth lines no obvious, without spiral ribs, body whorl swollen, taking up most of the shell about 72%. Suture low. Lip thin, inner lip slightly thickened and smooth, white, outer lip hazel. Umbilicus absent.

Operculum. ( Fig. 2 I View Figure 2 ) Ovate, smaller than aperture, corneous, thin, brown, length 3.85 mm, width 2.44 mm, and the nucleus located at the bottom left about 1/4.

Radula. ( Fig. 3 I View Figure 3 ) Central teeth with triangle-shaped pointed major cusp, and 3–4 smaller cusps on each side. Lateral teeth with pointed major cusp, and 3 smaller cusps on each side. Inner marginal teeth with four and outer with six to seven flattened, rounded denticles.

Anatomy. Snout, foot and tentacles light yellow. Snout broad, cylindrical, with long cephalic tentacles, tentacles slightly longer than snout in length.

Remarks. Body whorl taking up most of the shell about 72% of H. pyriformis sp. nov. (vs. H. intermedia and H. jacqueti ), which is a significant feature that distinguishes other Hua species. Hua pyriformis sp. nov. is most similar to H. telonaria and H. vultuosa , but can nevertheless be easily separated by Central teeth with 3–4 smaller cusps on each side (vs. H. pallens and H. rotundata with 2– 3 smaller cusps on each side), and shell surface with light yellow stripes. The new species can also be clearly distinguished from other Hua congeners by the following features: shell smooth (vs. shell sculptured in H. ovata , H. aristarchorum and H. aubryana ), outer marginal teeth with six to seven flattened (vs. more than or equal to ten flattened in H. vultuosa , H. kunmingensis , and H. liui ).

Habitat and distribution. This species was collected from Qingshui River in Kaiyang County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. The species inhabits rivers with a depth of less than 50 cm, the water flow was slow, and the substrate was stones.
